Karen Gaal.
Karen Gaal is the Chairwoman and Public Safety Director of the Third District Citizens Advisory Council (3D CAC) of the Metropolitan Police Department, Washington, DC, and the founder of the Karen Gaal Institute for Civic Leadership and Public Safety. She is a nationally recognized public safety innovator, civic strategist, trainer, and Islamic leadership educator.
Her leadership spans community safety, emergency preparedness, neighborhood accountability, women’s leadership development, and institution-building. She has served as ANC 1B05 Committee Woman, Ward One Precinct 22 Captain, Neighborhood Watch Commissioner, 3rd District Public Safety Director and a leading voice in public safety and civic engagement across Washington, DC.

She is also the founder of Power In Sisters – Sister Power, established in 1995 and now active in 12 countries, and the leader of The Path of Light Program and Friday Sisters Halaqah.
